MarketWare Technical Specifications

Listed below are the minimum system specifications to run MarketWare. However, the faster the CPU processor, the more RAM, etc. the better your experience will be with any software program.

Hardware: IBM-compatible computer, Pentium II, 300 or better, VGA or better Screen display (800x600 minimum 1024x768 or better recommended), and modem or other serial-attached dialer for your phone (if autodial is desired).
Memory: 64 MB of RAM (128 MB recommended if Word® Mail Merge is desired)
Hard Disk: 20 MB or more of free disk space on hard drive and approximately 1.5 MB per 1000 data records
Operating System: Windows 98 2nd Ed., 2000, XP, NT 4.0 or higher.
Network: Novell, Windows NT, 2000, XP, 2003
Internet Connection: DSL, Broadband, or better. For Streaming Video Training, if desired.
Microsoft SQL Server: Version 2000/2005 (Only applicable if you select SQL Server as you database engine.)

Client Software is installed on each PC or Terminal Server (this is required so that the appropriate DLLs and ActiveX objects can be registered).

Server Software is not required (unless you are using the Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005), but typically a Share is made available on your Network so that all users, databases, access rights, etc. can be centrally administered. (For Example, after installing all workstations, a copy of the file structure installed on one of the local PCs is copied to a Share, then the "Start-In" folder is modified on the Shortcut to MarketWare to point to that folder. Then all user definitions, databases, etc. are created using the tables built on the Share.)
